What is Xanax
Xanax is an anti-stress medication in the benzodiazepine family, the same family that has diazepam (Valium), clonazepam (Klonopin), lorazepam (Ativan), flurazepam (Dalmane), and others. It is said to bring up the activity to the brain and treat anxiety and physical disorders.
Xanax use
Xanax is a helping hand for those who suffer from anxiety disorders and sudden panic attacks. Available dosages
Pills come out in: 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2 mg. Pills ER (extended release): 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 mg. Solution: 1 mg/ml
Xanax storage
Xanax should be kept at room temperature, 15-30°C (59-86°F), in a dry place. Please make sure it is out of pets’ and kids’ reach.
Xanax dosage
Xanax could be prescribed to be taken with food or without it. The starting dose for treating anxiety is 0.25-0.5 mg 3 times daily using immediate release tablets. The dose may be increased every 3-4 days to a maximum dose of 4 mg daily. The starting dose for treating panic attacks is 0.5 mg 3 times daily. Doses can be increased every 3-4 days but by no more than 1 mg daily. For serious panic attack preventions you need to use 6 ml to see a successful result.
Missed dose
Please make sure you don’t miss your dose. If it happened so that you did miss it, please do not wait to take it as soon as you remember. But it is strictly not recommended to try to catch up and take one dose after another without a break. If you want to be successful with the treatment you need to keep up with your Xanax treatment schedule. This way you will always be safe.
Xanax warnings and precautions
There certain drugs that will increase side effects of Xanax so it is not recommended to use anything but Xanax at the time. While consuming alcohol you may find yourself thinking unclear as Xanax will slow your brain processes down a bit.
It is not permitted to use Xanax during the pregnancy. The fetus may evaluate abnormally inside the body.
Xanax is not to be used by women who are nursing.
Xanax side-effects
The thing you need to be aware of is that Xanax can cause drowsiness and light-headedness. But it also depends on the group of people that are using Xanax. Those who taken to stop themselves from panic attacks can notice slight memory problems, headaches and dizziness.
Xanax overdose
Severe drowsiness, slowed/reduced reflexes, slowed breathing, loss of consciousness are the symptoms of the Xanax overdose. You need to inform your doctor about it call the local poison center or emergency room. It is important to take it seriously.
